Dreaming About A Red Corvette Convertible?

Dreams about red Corvette convertiblesI honestly don’t remember having very many dreams in recent years. However, recently I had the most vibrant and realistic dream. I wouldn’t call it a nightmare, but I was incredibly relieved when I woke up because in my dream, I did something that was completely financially crazy. Why on earth did I buy a little, red Corvette convertible in my sleep?

Talk About Crazy Spending

In my dream, I was driving around in my trusty Altima and stopped into a car dealership on a whim. I distinctly remember seeing a red Corvette convertible on the show room floor, and I bought it without even a test drive. I remember writing a check for $27,000 and taking it home.

When I got home, I realized that it was only a two seater, and we have a family of three. I decided to take it back the next day. I also remember thinking about how on earth I was going to blog about this because there is no way in Hell I could justify it to my readers.

The dealership wouldn’t let me return it because the salesman had gone on vacation. I guess it was the commssion from my Corvette that sent him to some tropical paradise.

They did say that I could pick out another vehicle that was of similar cost, so I was looking at big old SUV’s when I woke up. Talk about relieved!

I Don’t Even Like Corvettes

I know this was a dream for several reasons.

  • I would never buy a new car on a whim.
  • Corvettes cost closer to $60,000. (I guess my dream price would be a good investment!)
  • I am a little scared of convertibles.
  • I have never liked Corvettes.

The Corvette is made in Bowling Green, KY, home of my alma matter, Western Kentucky University. I’ve seen tons of them, but usually the only people who buy them are middle aged men. If you looked up mid life crisis in the dictionary, you might see a picture of a Corvette.  If someone gave me one, I’d sell it for the money because I see absolutely no use for one. I’d never make it out of the driveway for 6 months of the year!

What Does This Dream Mean?

I am very curious what this dream means. I have no current desire to have a new car. I am not worried about going on a spending spree. I have no idea why I dreamed about red corvettes. Dream analysis websites are all over with one saying dreaming of buying a luxury car means I am wanting something outside my means, while another says it means my happiness is on the rise. Maybe it has no meaning, but it was surely an odd dream!

Have you had any odd dreams lately? Would you love a red Corvette?

  1. My dream last night was very weird, I saw a white horse looking at me. When I searched about the meaning of this one, I read that it means about power and purity. Well, at least it has a good meaning. 🙂

  2. Haha that’s funny. My dreams are always strange, but I can never remember them. I wouldn’t like a red corvette right now, but I would love a trusty newer-used car.

Hope you have a great weekend, Kim!

  3. Lol, that’s classic! I know that when I do dream that I don’t tend to remember it, though I do tend to dream in German for some odd reason. I was nearly fluent in it back in college, but it’s still odd. My wife, on the other had, always has crazy dreams. It always makes me wonder if she was smoking something funny that day. 😉 Have a great weekend Kim!

  4. I don’t know why people like fancy cars. I instinctively associate them with mid life crisises and douchiness.

  5. HAHAHAHA this is awesome! What an odd dream to have if you don’t even like corvettes. Perhaps those dream analysis sites are right and you want something out of your normal price range. Maybe after seeing lots of corvettes it somehow stands for luxury in your mind?! Is there a big purchase you’ve been wanting to make but keep talking yourself out of?

    • The only thing I want right now is a new back porch for our house. Maybe I’m relating that to a Corvette?

  6. That’s so funny Kim! The only dreams I ever remember are dreams where I am in school (high school or college) and I am typically unprepared for my schedule. I kept having these dreams and finally looked them up and apparently dreams about school are typically work related dreams and you have them when you are in an uncertain or stressful time and work and sure enough that was when these would come around. I haven’t had one in a while, though.

    • Before I sold my practice, I had the same dream several times of graduating from school and not finding a job or needing to take one more class to graduate but not finding a place to take it. I’m sure it was all stress related.

  7. Did you hear Prince before you went to bed? 🙂 It’s always tough to interpret dreams. Mine are often full of frustration…big surprise there. lol! Maybe you just want a sunny warm day where you can feel carefree?

    • I did not intentionally listen to Prince, but maybe I heard that song somewhere. I did always love that song.

  8. Wow – what a vivid dream, Kim! And really odd that it was Corvette that caught your fancy given that you don’t like them. I haven’t had any real strange dreams lately, although I must confess that sometimes I do want a convertible to cruise around with the top down. Of course the reality is that I would probably complain that I was cold and my hair was all messed up and could we please put the top back on. LOL! Have a great weekend and stay out of car lots!

    • I think that might be why I don’t like convertibles. I’m not a fan of wind in my face as awesome as people make it sound.

  9. I really love how you thought about blogging about the purchase in your dream! Haha. I also only ever see middle-aged men driving Corvettes. I hope your dream means that your happiness is on the rise! Maybe it means you want to speed up in some aspect. I almost never remember my dreams, so I’ve never had to wonder about them, but it is interesting. I have read (in psychology) that dreams often reflect what we have experienced during our waking hours, or memories that we’ve created.

  10. Interesting!!! I’m usually pretty good at interpreting the psychological meanings behind dreams, but this one’s got me stumped. 🙂

  11. While on a vacation I had a dream that people I sort of knew were labeling me. One kept saying I was a ‘SS’ and I kept arguing that they didn’t really know me and how could they label me. I have know idea what a ‘SS’ is, but I do have friends that like to label people (introvert, etc). I haven’t looked up what this means and I don’t think I will even try.

  12. I don’t know what the meaning of the dream is but I think it’s funny because my uncle just bought a new Corvette Stingray. It is not red, more like dark gray, but it does have a red interior. I’m not into cars so I don’t know anything about horsepower and such but I must admit that the car is very nice.

I don’t blame him for getting it either. He’s been saving for a long time to be able to buy a nice car, his house is paid off, his retirement accounts are in pretty good shape, and he has no consumer debt. He paid cash for the car and he said he deserved to get himself something nice. The first question I asked was, “Can we go for a spin?”
