I’ve been working a day a week on the Ute Mountain Ute reservation for almost a year. Nothing special about that, but if you know me at all, I am a huge sucker for stray dogs. There is an endless supply on the reservation. I have turned a blind eye for many months, but finally brought home two puppies who were wandering in the road yesterday. The call to my husband started this way,
“Please don’t divorce me, but….”
He knew right away I was bringing home a dog. He says I could buy a new car, take out a new mortgage, or buy any crazy purchase without that phrase, but if I’m asking him not to divorce me, it must mean a dog. He didn’t divorce me, and we are now fostering two adorable, but very naughty puppies. Never a dull moment.
There will be some great stuff coming up next week, including some awesome giveaways. Come back if you like free money!

Thank you for mentioning my guest post Kim. I appreciate it. I don’t know if I would be able to handle two puppies, but we do have two dogs at our home, but they are much older now. I do remember the old days when they would go around destroying everything!

Thanks for the mention Kim! I’ll not share your dog story with my wife…I think we have enough “fun” going on here with three little ones.
Have a great weekend Kim!

Thanks you too.
They look so cute! I want a dog too, but don’t think I would get one from the side of the road. Probably from a shelter or someone who doesn’t want them, the wandering ones have rabies here!

Some of the dogs from Towaoc on the rez do have strange viral strains or mange. No rabies that I’ve heard of. I am keeping these away from my permanent dogs until I know they aren’t carrying something. They seem pretty good so far. I really think they were just dumped the day I picked them up. They were a little skinny and very dirty, but did not look like they’d been on their own for long.
Thanks for the mention! Have a great weekend.

Perhaps if they were kittens! I would love a (one) dog, but alas my husband works for an airline, so we do get to travel (free airfare, standby, not fun) quite often. Our cat can be by himself, I do have a neighbor stop in for a visit. I enjoyed the other posts, my first time visiting your blog.
Thanks for stopping by. That would be great to get free airfare, but I’m sure the standby thing is hit or miss.

Oh my goodness, SO cute!!! I’m a sucker for dogs too, so I’m totally on your side here. Good thing hubby has a soft heart and agreed to take the cutie pies in. Now that we’ve got some land, we’re hoping to add a puppy to the mix here too. Have a great Sunday, Kim!

They’re so cute!! I have a huge soft spot for animals too. Good for you for fostering them. I fostered a 2wk old kitten a few years ago, had to syringe feed her and everything, so sad.
