Fast forward to March: gyms are ending their promotions and sportswear is back up to full price, as many people return to work and university having given up. In a busy city lifestyle, it can be hard to find time to stay fit and healthy – but when there’s a will, there’s a way.

Join A Local Gym

For lots of people, joining a gym is a great way to get in shape, as it allows for so many different types of workouts. Whether you’re into cardio or weights or both, you’ve got a variety of options so you can find multiple routines that work for you and switch them up with ease. If you work in one of Leo’s central London offices, you’re in luck, as there are plenty of nearby gyms so you can fit in a quick workout between meetings – and finding the time is half the battle.

Cycle to Work

Affectionately known throughout the city as Boris Bikes, these slightly clunky cycles aren’t the best but make a morning commute more enjoyable and good for you. Simply put your bank card in a docking station to hire your bike, and cycle off to your destination. Return it to the nearest docking station to your work, and strut in with an endorphin high. The best part is that these bikes are free to use for the first half hour, which is manageable for most commutes once you’re reached central London.

Join A Group

If you’re on a budget but like the sense of community offered by the gym, join a sports group. It may surprise you to know that the flagship London branches of Nike and Sweaty Betty offer their own running groups which are free to join, and open to all abilities. Alternatively, local councils or Universities often have running groups which are closer to home, and again these cover all abilities from absolute beginners to marathon runners. It’s a great way to make friends and motivate yourself to exercise.

Take A Class

The best part about living in London is the variety of stuff on offer that’s so weird and wonderful, so there are fitness classes for every interest and budget. Yoga is popular, and there are so many different types of yoga to choose from that it’s easy to find something to suit you. Alternatively, more unusual offerings in the city include hula hooping, lucha libre, trampolining, circus arts, or Jane Fonda tribute classes.
