How to Make More Money (Without Getting a Second Job)

How to Make More Money (Without Getting a Second Job)

For many people there comes a point in their life when money becomes tight. It happened to me both during and shortly after finishing college. In order to turn things around for myself I had to take a second and even a third job temporarily in order to make ends meet. Fortunately I was eventually able to make the necessary changes in my life that I needed and now my financial future looks brighter. But, if you want to make more money without getting a second job, there are ways to do that too. 1. Unlike what I had to do, you wouldn’t wear yourself down as much by not having to take on a second job. However, if you are going to ask your job for a raise you should first make sure you are performing well at what you are already doing. How To Pay For Emergencies Without Going Into Debt

having an emergency fund

It certainly feels like the economy is looking up for many Americans. While there are still workers in certain industries that struggle to find good paying jobs, investments are up, self employment opportunities are plentiful, and the world looks a bit rosier than it did a few years ago. At least that’s what I thought until I saw this study from the federal reserve showing that half of Americans would struggle if faced with a $400 emergency expense! If you fall into this category, it’s important to figure out how to pay for emergencies without going into debt. So Many People Can’t Afford Emergencies I’m certainly not one to throw stones. Back in the day, we whipped out a credit card for most expenses, emergency or not, expecting that we’d make our payment at the end of the month just like everyone else. I had hoped that  the recession taught most of us that jobs can disappear at any time and an emergency fund can be the difference between inconvenience and financial ruin, but I think maybe I was wrong. While this survey did have some positives, with the majority of respondents saying they are doing OK or ...

How Anyone Can Get Out Of Debt

paying off debt once and for all

On Monday, we talked about how people, even smart ones, can get into debt. Getting into debt is easy and sometimes even fun, but there is always a price to pay. I don’t know about you, but I love having choices. Debt robs any choice besides having to make a payment. If you really want to start living the life you were meant to have, it’s time to get out of debt once and for all. The good news is that by following some simple steps, anyone can get out of debt.  Accept Responsibility For Your Debt Now when I say simple, that doesn’t always equate to easy. It’s simple to lose weight by burning more calories than you consume, but how many people struggle with that one? I believe the first step in getting out of debt is to let go of the reasons that landed you here so that you can move forward. It doesn’t matter if your debt came from bad decisions, taking out too many student loans, not getting or keeping the job you wanted, or even from having medical bills. Once the balance is on your credit report, it’s all debt and your responsibility. Debt ...

Today, I’m going to break down all the common excuses I hear for why people think they can’t earn extra money and give some examples anyone can do to earn extra cash. Ways Anyone Can Make Extra Money   Excuse: No one will hire me. If you have any sort of skill, you can use it to make extra money, but you can’t expect people will come to you if they have no idea you are able to provide a needed service. In order to get hired, you need to show you are trustworthy and legitimate. I would make up some flyers or business cards and start visiting.  Remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day and it might take some time to build up your brand. Businesses are perfect places to pitch your wares, especially if you use them and they know you. As a small business owner, I have had trouble finding these services, even from all sorts of people who claimed they wanted a job. Reliability is everything. Cleaning Service– I have had a good cleaning service ...
