Trick or Treat Halloween Giveaway-3 Chances to Win Cash

October might just be my favorite month. The weather is usually perfect, cool at night and warm in the day. The leaves are changing colors, and I get to carve pumpkins into Disney characters. (Well, that one might be the favorite of a certain six year old) I also get to pull out one of my Halloween costumes. I have three that I rotate, a Greek Goddess, a red and green polyester hippy costume, and my favorite, which is a long black wig with a cape. I really wish there were more occasions when I could wear a cape! As far as money goes, you can really go crazy with buying costumes, decorations, and candy. However,  if you really want to save some cash, wait until October 31st. On Halloween day, stores usually mark their Halloween wares  down to half price. It might not work if you have to buy a little kid costume in advance, but I’ve gotten two of my three costumes this way, one even for 75% off. I also buy candy on Halloween day. Why pay full price if you don’t have to? To help with your Halloween bill or whatever else you might need this ...

The Most Exciting Vacation I’ve Ever Taken-$900 Giveaway

I have been on some pretty sweet vacations in my life. However, the most exciting one wasn’t my recent trip to the Pacific Northwest or anything free I’ve gotten with credit card points. It wasn’t my first trip out of the US. It wasn’t my trip to Italy. The most exciting vacation I’ve ever had was the very first one my family ever took when I was in second grade. I remember that vacation like it was yesterday, although it’s kind of funny to think about it from an adult perspective. As I’ve mentioned before, my Mom and Dad don’t travel. My Mom would have spent her whole life never getting on an airplane if I hadn’t moved so far away. They have no use for vacations, but for some reason my Dad came home one day and said we were going to Florida, in a few days! My sister and I were beyond excited. If  you grew up in my hometown in Southern Kentucky, almost everyone who vacationed went to Florida or Myrtle Beach, but I never thought I would get the experience. Being the workaholic that he is, my Dad decided to work one more day. Then, we ...

Get Mom a Cool Gift This Mother’s Day: Samsung LED TV Giveaway

If you’re a Mom or if you have a Mom, you probably know that we will like whatever you give us for Mother’s Day (unless it’s a mop). I do love handmade gifts from my daughter or a dinner cooked by someone else. However, it might be a good idea to get Mom or Grandma engaged in the 21st century by giving an electronic gift this year. I recently used some of my credit card reward points to get a Kindle Fire. Let me say that I am not very tech savvy, but it’s about the easiest thing I’ve ever used. I love to multitask, so I can watch shows or read books while I’m using the exercise bike or waiting for my daughter to finish dance class. Yes, you can spend a fortune on buying things from Amazon, but you can also sync it up to your local library to check books, and Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime are pretty affordable for watching shows or movies. E readers are also great for senior citizens because you can change the font to a larger type. We have several patients with macular degeneration who have trouble with standard print, but are ...

A stretch goal might be to pay off all credit card debt by the end of the year. ...
