Happy Labor Day!

Today in the US, we are celebrating Labor Day. According to Wikipedia, Labor Day “constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.” Most of us who get labor day off use it as a day to relax, have a barbeque, or catch up on yard work or other household chores that may have fallen to the wayside while we’ve been working. We work very hard and sacrifice many of the things we enjoy to bring home a paycheck. Lately, this is a topic I’ve considered at great length. Am I making the most efficient use of my time at work and home that will get me to my ultimate goal of financial independence? Can I really get to the point where everyday is Labor Day? Some days it seems I’m on the right path, and others seem like I’m spinning my wheels, which may not be a completely bad thing. I encourage everyone to enjoy today.
