It’s Christmas Eve! We are looking forward to a couple of days of down time and then a trip to Kentucky to visit my family. Because I’m watching A Christmas Story and don’t want to think about a real post, I thought I’d share my top 10 moments of 2014.

cost to foster dogs10) Having my best triathlon time ever at age 40

9)  Seeing our daughter and her friend ski the mini terrain park in Telluride and pop a little air on the jumps

 8) Getting our foster dog Blake adopted

7) Having our first girls only hike in Moab with my daughter

6) Hiking Fisher Towers

5)Selling my practice/ Jim’s new jobWashburn-summit

4) Torrey Pines hike/picnic

Beaches in South Kauai

3) Hanging Lake hike

2)Visiting Yellowstone National Park

1) Family trip to Hawaii

It is very interesting to me that all of my items, aside from selling my practice and Jim Moab Fisher Towersgetting a better job, do not involve material things or money at all. I think it’s obvious that experiences and family time mean much more to me than anything I could buy at a store.

I wish everyone a happy holiday season. I hope you get to enjoy the small things and reflect on your good memories of the past year.

What is your best moment of 2014?

  1. Awesome, Kim! I love the family pic- you guys are too cute!

  2. What a gorgeous picture! your daughter is the cutest. My best moment was getting my 17 yo brother for a month in Guatemala during summer, we had such an amazing time. Like you my top 10 is mostly made of personal interactions.
Very happy Christmas to you and all the best for 2015.

  3. What a year Kim! You had a lot going on this year!

My best moment was taking my Husband to the UK. I lived there for a year and it was such a thrill show him a place I love and to experience it together. It was also fun to see his attitude change from “what’s so special about London?” to “London is awesome!”

  4. Awesome list! I actually wrote a song for my blog next week highlighting my year, but three things were running at half, denver/Iceland, and getting invited to be a challenge team member for the pro volleyball tournament in July! Enjoy your Christmas and remember to take deep breaths while you are in Kentucky! 🙂

  5. Wow yeah Yellowstone and Hawaii are both great vacations – two of the few places I’ve been to on vacation. I’m impressed when people even COMPLETE a triathlon….I’m not sure it’s something I will ever do.

  6. Your year seems awesome. I have never joined a triathlon yet. Maybe next year I will. Merry Christmas Kim!

  7. Beautiful family pic up there on top, Kim!!!! I hope we can take the kids to Yellowstone soon – I was there as a kid and as a young adult and absolutely love it there! Have a very Merry Christmas, my friend!

  8. Sounds like a wonderful year. Like you, our best moments involved family. We welcomed Mini Maroon #2 in September. It is such a delight to see how much her big brother, who’s not quite there yet, loves her. I worried he wouldn’t want anything to do with her. But it’s the exact opposite. Merry Christmas!

  9. I’ve yet to do a triathlon but I am definitely aiming to do my first marathon this year! Congrats on your time!

  10. Sounds like a great year! What is my best moment – I don’t think I have a best moment. I like how much I’ve learned about myself and PF this year. I still have a lot to learn, but I’m so glad I started on my journey!

  11. What a great year! 2014 was pretty fab for me too, not sure I can narrow it down to one thing, I’m just so grateful for all of it!

  12. Fantastic year, Kim. I hope 2015 is even better!

  13. I couldn’t agree more!
Of course, the best memory from 2014 is the arrival of our son, but the runner up is our family vacation!

  14. Sounds like a great year!!! Cute dog 🙂 Happy holidays to you & your family.

(I’m part of the new Happy Homeowner team. It’s now me, Mark, and Noah at the reigns. Stop by and read our post from the other day where we introduced ourselves!)

  15. Sounds like you had a fabulous year! Totally agree with you on the best moments being about spending time together and experiences. I think our best times of 2014 would also largely involve hiking :). Your family photo is absolutely gorgeous! Hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas week and Happy New Year!

  16. Kim-we have three of the same moments! All of your top three-LOL. Is this a Colorado thing? Hope you had an amazing Christmas.

  17. These are such great moments Kim!! My favorite moments of 2014 were spent with my hubby and son. We did a number of small day trips into the city to see the 9/11 memorial and visit museums and I always enjoy the times we have as a family. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and you have a happy new year!!
